Ambika Devi Sisodia
Ambika is one of those persons of her generation who straddles two worlds. At times intensely modern and at others immersed within a labyrinth of romance that an old India exudes. For Ambika, the India which she understands is an India that is fast moving towards modernism, but the India that she carries is one which is enveloped in tradition and a cultural heritage that spans generations. It is her own heritage that gives her an advantage over others. Ambika belongs to the erstwhile state of Pratapgarh (a kingdom in Rajasthan till it merged with the Union of India in 1947) and is related to other Royalty in India. Her family traces its ancestry back to 569 AD. Having been born into the inner circles of Rajasthan - she understands the very workings of a cultural heritage that most of us get a mere glimpse of today. Having lived in the west for many years, Ambika understands the nuances of the western mind. Her sensibilities have always been concerned with the detailed pleasures of life. She studied the history of jewellery, gemology & design in the United States, England, Thailand and New Zealand. Following which, she worked at Christies Auction House in Melbourne (Australia). It is probably travel that allows Ambika to merge this very dichotomy of her understanding of the world into a wonderful tour you will never forget.
